Unlike most, if not all other PS1 emulators, Mednafen strives for accuracy & compatibility above all else. Was there anything to "circumvent" beyond "don't do that"? Sure you can get the latter running very similar to former but it takes some time and effort and digging around. Compare that to EmulationStation or DosBox on Windows. I just want to add that what I appreciate a lot about OS X devs is their attention to making a friendly, usable UI. Except for a few edges cases, everyone should be running 10.11. Apple constantly adds new api functions and depreciates others so if there were some handy functions added to 10.11 that made things easier, they probably took that path. I may end up running an osx vm on my main osx so I can move forward and still connect to work.Īs to why they did it. #Ps1 emulator mac 10.10 softwareMy work's ancient vpn software doesn't run on 10.11 (was a bitch to get working on 10.0) so I'm stuck. Just because this thread didn't seem to have enough complaints Is there a good reason for that? I haven't got around to upgrading from 10.10 yet. ![]() This PROBABLY invalidated the result of Lewis Galoob Toys v. Videogame consoles have such provisions in their BIOS, so making, distributing, or even using mod-chips became illegal. Code, (Constitutional amendments can overturn court rulings, too.)Īs an example of the latter, Congress added a whole new chapter of copyright law with the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, the "anti-circumvention" statutes, which prohibited reverse-engineering on data protection methods used to secure copyrighted material. such as all patent cases being referred to the same appeals court, regardless of which district court they started in.)Īlso, a court ruling can be mooted by a change in law. (Believe it or not, this is a simplified explanation that ignores some complexities. until the Supreme Court changes its mind, and overturns the previous case. Supreme Court issues a ruling, then all federal courts are bound by the ruling. This is called a "circuit split" and often, but not always, will cause the Supreme Court to accept a case in order to set a single answer. Even then, it's possible that one appeals court may reach one ruling, and another appeals court may reach a different ruling. If an appeals court rules on something, all of the district courts that report to that appeals court are bound by the appeals court decision. Each of the district court's cases can be reviewed by one of the federal appeals courts. However, if it comes up again in district court 2, district court 2 is NOT bound to follow district court 1's ruling. So, if district court 1 reaches a decision, if the same issue comes up again in district court 1, then the decision will be the same. #Ps1 emulator mac 10.10 freeFirst off, each of the 50 states is free to make their own laws on things, and even things that are allegedly "uniform", such as the Uniform Commercial Code, are not necessarily uniform.Įven in federal court (which is where copyright claims go), stare decisis is applied only to that court. The first is that you have a badly incorrect understanding of "stare decisis" and how it is applied in U.S. This is incorrect, and for a number of reasons. The fact a case has a verdict means (at least in the US) that all similar cases will have a very-similar verdict. #Ps1 emulator mac 10.10 PcThe Phoenix (and other) PC BIOS replacements were built prior to the DMCA adding anti-circumvention to copyright law. Phoenix copied the IBM PC BIOS just fine without getting sued, despite that BIOS being the only IBM-proprietary thing in the IBM PC.Īlso, Bleem did it (had a BIOS replacement in their emulator) and the court sided with them (sorry for not posting it initially, it was in the second post I nuked, I have put it back in first post now) I disagree with the "they'd probably get sued" bit. Even if they made a clone of the BIOS that worked exactly the same without the proprietary logos of the original vendor, they'd probably get sued. The software (BIOS) is not legally redistributable, but without it you won't have the identical behavior of the original consoles. ![]() #Ps1 emulator mac 10.10 crackI mean, who doesn't want to play classic games on their living room TV?Īlso, what's this obsession with requiring BIOS files (dumps)? All hail emulator log"Our emulator is legal, but in order to use it you either need to crack open a PS1 and use uber-specialized hardware and sofrware to extract the BIOS, or dive into the murky parts of the internets and obtain a BIOS dump illegally" ![]() I don't get how a 10-foot interface wasn't near the top of the priority list all along. ![]()
